Free Reaktor ensemble – Insidious 6581
Mike Clarke has released a free emulation of the legendary Commodore 64 sound chip. It includes three channels with the Triangle, Square/PWM, Sawtooth, Noise-waveforms and combined oscillators, the original saturation filter, ring modulation, LFOs , a step table and all the technologies of the SID chip. The sound is very authentic and is to be one of the best SID emulations. Unfortunately Insidious 6581 is only working for Reaktor users, but if you’re using the free Reaktor Player you can play around with Insidious 6581 and render some sounds within a quarter of an hour.
